Property Damage & Structural integrity
Aesthetics - Sight & Smell
Health Concerns: Mold can pose serious health risks, especially for individuals with respiratory conditions, allergies, or compromised immune systems. Certain types of mold produce mycotoxins that, when inhaled or come into contact with the skin, can lead to various health issues. Mold testing helps identify the presence of mold and its specific type, enabling targeted remediation to protect the health of your household.
Property Damage Prevention: The same enzymes that help fungi break down dead material are what help fungi to damage wooden components in a building. Mold can eventually damage a building's furnishings, rot wood, damage drywall, and cause structural damage. Regular mold testing helps identify moisture issues and potential mold growth, allowing you to address the root cause before significant damage occurs.
Occupant Comfort and Well-Being: Living in a mold-free environment contributes to overall comfort and well-being. Mold can be unsightly and produce unpleasant odors. Mold testing helps maintain a healthy indoor environment, ensuring the well-being of occupants and preventing discomfort associated with mold-related issues.
Real Estate Transactions: Mold testing is often recommended during real estate transactions. Knowing the mold status of a property can be crucial for both buyers and sellers. Sellers can address mold issues before listing their property, while buyers can make informed decisions and negotiate repairs or reductions in the purchase price based on the mold test results.

What is Mold?
Mold is a fungi. They are a natural part of our environment and can be found in any area where moisture and oxygen are present. The role of fungi outdoors is to break down dead organic matter such as dead trees, leaves, and other debris. All mold is fungi, but not all fungi are mold. Molds are made up of thread-like cells called hyphae. The hyphae will grow into long intertwining strings that form the main body of the fungus that is visible to the human eye. Molds multiply by producing microscopic spores like seeds of plants. These spores can easily float through the air, land in wet moist areas, and reproduce.
What Mold Needs?
Mold does not need much to grow. A little condensation can be enough. Whenever mold spores land on wet damp areas and begin growing, it is a problem. As molds grow they digest whatever they grow on. Mold can germinate, grow, and produce spores in as little as 24 hours.
What are potential health risks?
Exposure to fungal spores may exacerbate allergic reactions, cause toxic effects, or cause infections. Mold can trigger asthma episodes in sensitive individuals.
Where can mold grow?
Mold can grow in any area where moisture and oxygen is present.
Will mold affect my house?
Mold can affect the structural integrity of your home or building. Mold can damage wood, furnishings, and drywall.
Can your home be 100% MOLD free?
Mold is everywhere; mold cannot be eliminated from indoor environments but mold does not grow if moisture is not present.
Is Black mold is the only dangerous kind of mold?
Molds grow in all colors. “Black mold’ is not a species or specific kind of mold and neither is “toxic” mold. People confuse black mold or toxic mold when trying to refer to mold that produce mycotoxins or stachybotrys chartarum. Molds that produce mycotoxins are referred to as toxigenic fungi.
